Xiaomi has introduced its sub-brand namely Pocophone. The first device released by this child company is the Poco F1. It is the first ever device powered with Snapdragon 845 and priced below $400. This breakthrough makes the device a flagship killer. Xiaomi itself has released three devices which are powered by Snapdragon’s beast: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, Mi 8, and Black Shark. All of them are subsumed as Xiaomi’s flagship devices. Therefore, many have said that the coming of Poco F1 is really a steal.
Specs wise, the device is rolled out with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood. This system on chip sports Octa-core processor consisting of 4x 2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold and 4x 1.8 GHz Kryo 385 Silver. The existence of Adreno 630 GPU clocked at 7120 MHz gives the SoC a significant boost especially in heavy graphic-demanding tasks like gaming. The device also has 6GB LPDDR4X RAM to make data processing smooth. Available in four color variants – Steel Blue, Graphite Black, Kevlar Armored, and Rosso Red – the Poco F1 has 6.18-inch IPS-LCD capacitive touchscreen with 83.8% screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, its dual camera setup is also a beast. The device combines a 12MP 1.4µm sensor with f/1.9 wide-angle lens and a 5MP 1.12µm camera sensor with f/2.0 for depth sensor. The camera also features Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Dual pixel PDAF technology. In term of selfie shooter, it has 20MP 0.9 µm camera sensor with f/2.0 lens. This phone is absolutely perfect for mobile photography and videography. The SoC under the hood is capable to record 1080p videos @240fps.
