This article will guide you on how to easily install Google Play Store and any other Google Apps on any Xiaomi devices running MIUI 7/8/9 China ROM either Stable or Beta (Developer) build. As you may also knew that MIUI China ROM does not have any Google Services or apps. This forces you to either simply live with it or manually install Play Store on your own. As expected, this tutorial will make you choose the second option.
Basically, there are three ways you can install Google Apps (also known as GApps):
- By installing the .apk files which is easy and requires root access;
- By flashing Gapps package (.zip) through custom recovery like TWRP;
- By downloading from MIUI Play Store which also requires no root.
The first option seems the easiest one. However, finding the appropriate Gapps .apk files is not that easy. The apps’ .apk files should be the ones compatible with your devices.

The second option is so far the most difficult one. This requires no root but obviously it requires custom recovery. However, in most recent MIUI devices, flashing TWRP (or CWM) can only be done after you have obtained bootloader unlocking permission. It is no way to flash TWRP on a device with locked bootloader.

The third option is indeed the most easiest one regardless you have to understand some Chinese character. This article will walk you through the third option. Therefore, you can use this method even if you don’t read Chinese.
Install Play Store on MIUI China ROM
Step 1 – Grab your Xiaomi phone and tap on the Settings app to launch it up.
Step 2 – Now go to following path:
Additional settings >> Privacy >> tick or activate Unknown Sources
That will allow you to install any apps from unkown sources.
Step 3 – Now open up Mi Store app.
Step 4 – Now in the search bar, type “Google Play” and hit enter.
Step 5 – Next, tap on the one with the green icon (see image below). That is the Google Installer app (not the Play Store itself). Now install it.
Step 6 – Go back to your home screen and find the newly installed Google installer app. Tap on it to launch it up.
Step 7 – Next, tap on the blue Install button then wait till the process has reached 100%.
The process will install following essential parts of Gapps: Google Services Framework, Account Manager, Play service, Calendar synchronization, and Contact synchronization service. ..
Step 8 – Now simply tap in the Install then tap OK when asked.
Step 9 – Finally, restart your phone. This is necessary to make all Google services loaded completely. Once done, you will now see the familiar Play Store icon.
Just tap on its icon to launch the app. This method install very basic parts to have Play Store and Google services on your phone. It means that you have to manually install other apps like GDrive, Gmail, Hangouts, Duo, Youtube, Photos, etc.
Alternatively, simply download the .apk file below and install it on your phone then follow the steps above except step 3 until step 5.
