Download a custom modified version of TWRP Recovery for Xiaomi Mi A1 (codename Tissot) running the latest Android One based on Oreo build (Android 8). The modified version needs some additional tweaks to be able to work flawlessly on the device. This is surely a relieving news for those who have updated the device into the latest version of Android One. TWRP has become a must-have tool for every Android device who want to either root their devices or install custom ROM on it.
However, just like many other devices, flashing a custom recovery requires an unlocked bootloader. Hence, do not attempt to flash it if you have not unlocked it. Simply read our previous guide on how to easily unlock Mi A1 bootloader. It’s fast and without submitting permission request to MIUI website.
You will need to use TWRP v3.2.2 to reboot into recovery and then flash the TWRP v3.2.1 from it.
p.s: The above build of TWRP is for Oreo-based ROM. Hence, please use the official TWRP v3.1.1-0 if your phone still runs Nougat-based ROM.
