TWRP v3.2.1-0 for Redmi Note 5 Pro

Download a fully working version of TWRP Custom Recovery for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (codename WhyRed) which is also known as the Indian version of Redmi Note 5 dual-camera. You can either download the flash-able .img file or use the Windows-version installer to automatically flash it on your device.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro is a phone powered with dual-camera and is the next flagship of Redmi Note variant. It is produced uniquely in India. There is another variant of Redmi Note 5 which is the China and the Global variants. However, please do note, this custom recovery is meant ONLY for Redmi Note 5 Pro India. Hence, do not attempt to flash it on other variants.

Warning for MIUI 10 users: Xiaomi has implemented Anti-rollback Protection since MIUI 10. There is a slight workaround to flash a custom recovery (and hence a custom ROM). What is this? Why should I concern? Please read our detailed information on MIUI Anti-rollback mechanism here.

Below is the official build of TWRP. It is the flash-able image file which you can flash it through ADB Fastboot interface. You should already know how to flash it or otherwise use the flasher toolkit after the jump.

How to install TWRP on Redmi Note 5 Pro?

1. Unlock your phone bootloader.
2. Download either Mi Flash tool or ADB Fastboot Drivers.
3. Download the TWRP Flasher Tool above and extract it on your computer.
4. Download DM Verity Disabler v6.0 and transfer it to your phone.
5. Optionally, you may also download either Magisk or SuperSU (only if you want to root) and copy it to your phone.
6. Disable Windows Driver Signature on your computer.
7. Install either Mi Flash or ADB Fastboot Drivers you have downloaded.
8. Enable Developer Options on your phone (Settings >> About phone >> tap MIUI version 7 times >> You are now a developer)
9. Enable USB Debugging (Settings >> Additional settings >> Developer options >> USB Debugging >> Toggle it on)
10. Connect your phone to your computer using its USB cable.
11. Right-click and “Run As Administrator” the extracted “ifelixit FLASHER TOOLKIT Whyred-Vince4.bat” file.
12. Press any key on your keyboard.
13. Type “2” and hit Enter button on the keyboard.
14. You will then reach the TWRP screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications. By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don’t follow the next step you will be unable to boot.
15. Now choose Install then locate the SuperSU and DM Verity .zip files.
16. Flash the zip files in the TWRP.
17. Choose Reboot.
18. Done and enjoy.
