Play Store for Android Marshmallow and Nougat

Posted on January 4, 2017January 4, 2017 by Fariez N

Many custom ROMs and few stock Android ROMs like MIUI China build do not have Play Store and as well as any other Google Apps pre-installed. It means that if by any chance you have such Android phone then you have to install the GApps package manually. There are several Gapps packages available like OpenGapps.org. However, there are some other like this one that we are going to share it with you.

Meet MM Gapps! A basic package to have Google Apps and its services running on Marshmallow-based Android phones. Furthermore, this Gapps can also be flashed on ROMs based on Android 7.0 Nougat. This flashable Gapps package is basically similar to Pico OpenGapps. It has the bare minimum apps to get Google Play functionality. However, you will need TWRP custom recovery to flash the zip file. The package has been proven to work properly on MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow and Nougat but it may also work on any popular ROMs like AOSP, CyanogenMod, Lineage OS, and so on.

How to use?

Download and copy the .zip file into your phone’s SD Card or put it in OTG. Reboot your phone into TWRP recovery, choose Install, locate the zip file, and do the “Swipe to install” action.

Reboot your device once the flashing process is completed. Now launch the Play Store app for the very first time and adjust some initial settings that may require to update the Play Store app to newer version. Enjoy.
