Technology we use

WordPress – I think it’s obvious that we use WordPress as the main publishing platform for this blog. We choose WordPress due to its flexibility for developing as well as many third-party plugins to enhance its feels, looks, and usability. Moreover, with big communities supporting behind it making the platform at number one in our list. We love WordPress.

NGINX – Pronounced as engine x, Nginx is an HTTP and reverse proxy server, a mail proxy server, and a generic TCP/UDP proxy server. It is basically a web server but can also be used as a reverse proxy, load balancer and HTTP cache. It is so far known as better alternative for Apache replacement. The way its behave differently than Apache making it as fastest free web server on the planet so far that still maintain many great features. Nginx uses an asynchronous event-driven approach to handling requests. Nginx’s modular event-driven architecture can provide more predictable performance under high loads. For that reasons alone we fall in love with Nginx. Since we want to spend little budget for renting servers, Nginx is our best choice.

MyBlog Theme – MyBlog is one of fastest WordPress themes on the planet. Created by MyThemeShop, the theme features 8 pre-defined layouts. Furthermore, it also comes with Social Media sharing option, Mega Menu out-of-the-box compatibility, 10 powerful free widgets, and so on. The theme also packs off-canvas mobile menu adding more coolness to its fluid responsive design. However, the thing we like about this theme is its speed optimized design. We don’t like complicated design and layout. We like simple design with very fast loading speed. Just like MyBlog.

REDIS Cache – We use Redis to cache things at server-level. This will reduce load in our server negating the need for hardware upgrade (at least not yet). Redis is an open source (BSD licensed), in-memory data structure store, used as a database, cache and message broker. It supports data structures such as strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets with range queries, bitmaps, hyperloglogs and geospatial indexes with radius queries.

KeyCDN – Since we always want the experience of our readers to feel comfortable visiting our site, we also make use of Content Delivery Network technology which in this case we use KeyCDN. It is a simple, fast and reliable CDN. Their service is really rock solid delivering real-time content delivery network built for the future which is HTTP/2 ready.  With more than 25+ datacenters around the globe, KeyCDN sports highly optimized TCP stack and 100% SSD coverage. That factors that make their platform faster than others CDN providers. As for us, we like it because their price is very cheap in terms of service ratio that we will get. Anyway, there is a promo is still going. Get $10 credits to use KeyCDN and get 250GB FREE CDN traffic if your signup for new account here.

What is a CDN and why you need it? A Content Delivery Network (or Content Distribution Network) is a system of strategically positioned servers around the globe. These servers maintain and accelerate your content. The main goals of a CDN are about speed, scalability and high-availability. A request from a user will always be routed to the nearest point of presence (POP). User’s distance to these servers has an impact on loading time.

ShortPixel – Again, we love to have lightweight website and page load speed really matters for us. Therefore, we also compressed every image in this site using ShortPixel technology. ShortPixel uses advanced compression technology that reduces image size without any before/after difference in quality, thus making your pages load faster. They have 3 different image compression levels: Lossy, Glossy, or Lossless. The best part, they offer free 100 credits/month for free user. However, you will get 100+100 (200) image credits for free if you signup from this link.

Our Servers

We use various providers to host our servers – from the best one like Vultr to the lowend ones. Our servers are located at several locations in both Europe and United States.

Virmarch – Currently we use a VPS from Virmach to host our main website. They are not a cloud provider like Digital Ocean or Vultr. However, since we challenge our-self to optimize such minimalist server, we believe that current specification of what Virmarch can offer is sufficient. We really like their price per service ration. Very cheap but dependable.

Vultr – Having more than 15+ location worldwide spanning from North America, Europe, Asia to Australia, Vultr is of course our best choice to host the files. Each cloud server by Vultr sports latest generation Intel CPUs to guarantee consistent performance. Moreover, as a user we can easily spin up and spin down with ease and we only have to pay for the hours we use their rock solid platform. Best of call, they use fast SSD storage. The one we like is of course their price. Starting only from $2.5/month for a 512MB server, we can deploy many servers in various locations.

NAT Servers – We also use several NATted-based servers from various providers like Lowendspirit to host supporting things like monitoring, backup, storage server, syncing, and so on.

In conclusion, we try our best effort to employ latest technology as we can for the sake of your convenient in visiting this site. However, there will be many lacks in here and there so please do not hesitate to contact us.
